I was able to get a very cheap Dual Output DC Charger from an electric mobility faire in stockholm from a asian manufacturer, they used this device to show off and sold it cheap to avoid heavy transportation back to the origin country. I was lucky that my employer also had a stand at the faire and the guys who transport our stand were so kind and took this monstrosity back to austria for me. The total weight of the box was way over 100kg.
Such a charger contains Powerline communication modems, (bidirectional?) power supplies with high voltage ratings (>750V), a main brain with linux and a display and possibly a card reader too. Lets open up the device:
I hope I can spend enough time on this device and break into it and run custom software, as the stock growatt software is completely unusable and such a bad quality, that you cannot even start or stop a charge without touch display interaction. It claims to support ocpp, but rejects every message type used to start and stop transactions. The only part of OCPP it supports is sending meter values on its own with temperature and current values.
